Please keep in mind that the term Advanced FWE (focused wave engine) is kind of misleading, some people instantly assume its a really advanced pulse jet. The advanced FWE is a more refined version of the standard FWE engine.
While its an all around nice engine with decent performance, its not the most advanced thing around. It appealing features are that its easy to build, easy to start, and a fun first time project.
3LB Thrust Thermo Jet Style Valveless Pulse Jet Plans
The 3lb thrust thermojet is a neat little engine that is able to start up on its own without need for compressed air like many pulsejets. It also has a very wide throttle range. Its a little more challenging than the FWE but is still an easy build overall.
We highly recommend this engine for the ease of starting and wide throttle range! The great features of this engine make it well suited for a wide number of applications.
